'TWEETING' TAKES TERSE TURN ON THURSDAYS

July 22, 2010

If this is Thursday, we must be cranky.  Scientists at Harvard University have been studying more than 300 million postings on Twitter and determined people seem to be at their angriest on Thursdays.  This is based on the use of 'happy' words such as love, paradise and diamond, compared to the use of 'negative' words such as funeral, suicide and rape.  People, they found, are happiest on Sunday morning.  They start to get cranky that afternoon and get crankier as they move through the week though there are spikes of happiness just before 6 a.m. and late at night.  Noon to 3 p.m. is the grumpiest time of the day.
