It’s considered one of the Top 100 Festivals in Ontario, but the weather certainly hasn’t been co-operating for Winterfest. The annual event kicks off at 10 o’clock this morning with activities all weekend long at Memorial Square and Heritage Park. However, due to the mild weather, the dog sled races are going to be a game-day decision and some changes are being made to the polar bear dip, since the ice is not safe enough for anyone to walking on. Over 25 thousand people attended the winter family festival last year. There will be live bands, kids entertainment, horse-drawn wagon rides, lumberjack shows and an ice maze.
