Two Barrie principals have received a prestigious award. Barry Keogh from St. Monica's Catholic School and Russell Atkinson from Barrie Central Collegiate Institute are among the winners of Canada's Outstanding Principals award for 2012. They are two of 40 principals from the province and 219 from across the country to receive the honour from The Learning Partnership. It recognizes principals for demonstrating exceptional leadership and laying the foundation for the success of students. Pattie Campbell from St. Paul's Catholic School in Alliston and Joe Timmins from St. Joan of Arc Catholic High School in Barrie received the award last year. Keogh and Atkinson will attend a Gala Awards Ceremony in Toronto next month.
