30 Years ago today Terry Fox had to call it quits in Thunder Bay on his 'Marathon of Hope.'
It wasn't the up & downhill landscape he encountered or the strong winds, heavy rain and cool temperatures. It wasn't even because he was essentially running on one leg; Terry Fox was forced to quit because he was severely sick!
Here's a clip from the Chairman of the Barrie Terry Fox Run... He describes the kind of pain Terry battled through . . . .
The Barrie 'Terry Fox Run' happens on Sunday September 19, 9am at Centennial Park on waterfront. Walk/run, cycle or rollerblade and help raise money for Cancer research as Terry did 30 years ago!
Pledge sheets are available today at our Rock95 office, 431 Huronia Road in Barrie's South End.
