Much Music celebrates their 26th year on the air. That makes me about 11 when it came out. Perfect.
Just about that age when music was about to consume my life, and indeed videos were a part of that. I watched for hours, ofen taped what I couldn't watch. But, as we all know, back then it was about the music.
They would fire off a three pack of videos, take a break come back and give you more. The only shows they had highlighted the music. Power Hour, Rap City, or the Spotlight with interviews and videos on one specific band.
Now, it's filed with mostly reality shows and fluff. I haven't even flipped by it in years, because it's in a section of channels I don't watch on my cable.
I would say happy birthday...but the channel seems dead. It's a shadow of what was once a daily ritual for teenagers. Maybe I'm just old and out of touch for what teenagers want these days
I know myself...I wanted music, not a show about musicians living in a house for 30 days.
The first video played on Much Music...The Enemy Within by Rush. Ideal. You won't find a more 80's looking video.
