The South Simcoe Police Service is encouraging parents to closely monitor their kid’s wireless behavior. This after some students at an Innifsil High School were found to be circulating nude pictures of themselves using Blackberry Messenger. Police say all of the pictures appear to have been obtained with the consent of those involved – however, this is not the issue. Due to the age of the some of the students involved and the graphic nature of the images, they could be classified as child pornography. Police say these BBM groups – which have been shut down - were quite large and may have spread to other schools. South Simcoe Police have decided not to press charges but will be working with the school on an education piece for students and parents to prevent this from happening again.
