Just over 80 centiemtres of snow to date - half what we usually get, we've had twice as much rain as snow and the temperature has been 3-4 degrees above normal. David Phillips at Environment Canada says it's be an abstract winter, unlike any he can remember. There have been only 16 so-called 'freeze days' where the daytime temperature has stayed below zero. We've usually had 43 by now. But he says winter is not over by a long shot, noting we generally get 45 per cent of our snow during February, March and April.
