Yesterday, Gordie Johnson the front man for Grady and Big Sugar was in conversation with us on the Canadian Showcase. Gordie is a musicians, musician. He loves to collaborate with other musicians. He's helped produce various bands, written and got together with various artists to share songs, he's even appeared playing bass guitar with other groups. So, it's not entirely unusual, that he is currently the front man for two active bands at the same time!
Next Thursday night, Gordie will be sharing the stage at the Ranch Nightclub with the Trews to kick off the Barrie New Music Fest. Gordie and the Trews recently worked together on the Highway of Heroes song, a very touching and fitting tribute to Canada's fallen soldiers who have to make that final trip up the 401 to Toronto.
One time Gordie went to see the Trews and they invited him up to join them live on stage, but instead of joining in to sing on some Trews songs, the band started to belt out Big Sugar tunes for Gordie to join in on.
This time in Barrie, Gordie is inviting the Trews to perform with Big Sugar, and perform Big Sugar's "Heated" album in it's entirety.
It'll be a first and maybe only opportunity to see this rare coming together of some great Canadian talent. Be listening to ROCK 95 ALL weekend for a chance to WIN your way into the show next Thursday.
