If you're old enough to remember Terry Fox running his Marathon of Hope, you're probably floored to hear it was 30 years ago TODAY that Terry ran through the streets of Barrie!
To commemorate the event the local Terry Fox committee is going to bury a time capsule today with various pictures, memorabilia, and artifacts from the day that Terry passed through the City of Barrie, tonight starting at 5pm running through 7 this evening at Terry Fox Elementary School in Barrie.
The public is welcome to attend the dedication ceremony tonight. The time capsule will be opened in 50 years by a new generation of Canadians in the year 2060, and those artifacts are sure to be of interest to historians and anyone captured by Terry's story.
If you're interested and have some time, stop by and check it out. Refreshments and a pubic will be going on.
